BMOCA to offer internships for high school students

The Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA) is currently accepting applications for its Youth Art Advisory Internship Program, a yearlong internship open to students currently enrolled in a Boulder County high school. Youth Art Advisory Interns work closely on the development of programming and events for The Studio Project, BMoCA’s teen program. In addition, Youth Art Advisory Interns lead educational tours of the museum’s exhibits as part of the Docent Program. Youth Art Advisory Interns also assist exhibiting artists and visit other museums and galleries as a part of the program.

This unpaid internship is an excellent opportunity for students interested in collaborative program development and arts outreach to gain behind-the-scenes museum experience. It will also require students to discuss interests and issues that concern teens today. Interns will meet with the museum’s Education Director and other Youth Art Advisory Interns on Wednesday afternoons from 4-5:30pm during the school year, beginning August, 2010. Accepted applicants must commit to the entire school year.
