“CALL FOR ART” To our Chinook Artist Friends

We are thrilled to be returning to Macy’s after a very successful event in 2010 and I hope you will consider donating your work this year.

All featured works will be prominently displayed at eye level which will give our display a more gallery feel. We are seeking only 75 pieces this year to include paintings, photographs, jewelry, pottery and ceramics with values of $100 to $750. All paintings and photographs should be gallery wrapped. We are excited to be going “Green” this year, so would especially welcome art produced with eco-friendly products, found objects and recycled materials.

Once again, donating artists have a choice of a complimentary ticket to the event OR a 20% commission if the work sells.

This auction is crucial to the continuation of programs provided by Chinook Clubhouse. The Clubhouse, a program of Mental Health Partners, provides and fosters social, vocational and educational opportunities to members recovering from mental illness.

Christopher Brown Exhibit April 7 – June 8, 2011

The Highland City Club Gallery is pleased to present:

Soft Rocks ~ Hard Water

The Photography of Christopher Brown

April 7 – June 8, 2011

I hope you will join me and Liz Relin this coming Thursday afternoon at the Highland Gallery.

A large part of what makes the Highland Gallery so rewarding is conceptualizing the exhibits we hang as a synergistic whole.  By that I mean the exhibit in the Highland City Club space, as an entity, becomes more than sum of the individual photographs that are hanging.  To that end, Chris Brown has spent much time selecting these images and they do indeed add up to a striking exhibit!  These images are about the geographical and metaphorical relationship between rocks and water that shape the Western landscape. This is the 20th show in the Highland Photography Series.

Sincerely,
Marty Sugg, assistant to the Director, Highland Gallery

OPENING RECEPTION:

Thursday, April 7 5:00 to 7 pm –Note that this is a Thursday evening!!
