Older Boulder show at Boulder Arts & Crafts Gallery

Boulder Arts & Crafts Gallery is offering their 3rd annual “Older Boulder” exhibition June 16 through July 25. The opening artist’s reception is Sunday, July 11, 3-5pm at 1421 Pearl Street in Boulder.

A senior citizen watercolor class, taught by long time Bolder Boulder poster artist Anne Gifford, has created the paintings displayed in this year’s Third Annual Older Boulder show. The students range in age from 55 to 90 years old. Some of the artists are new to watercolors and some are perfecting techniques they learned years ago.

East Boulder County Studio Tour is this weekend

The second weekend of the EBCA Studio Tour is this Saturday & Sunday, May 8 & 9, from noon – 5pm. The tour is free and open to the public.

Sally Eckert-Tone is a Boulder artist who has participated in the Open Studios Fall Artist Tour for several years.

Chris Brown, Sound Circle collaborate

Women’s a cappella ensemble Sound Circle and photographer Christopher Brown collaborate to offer Path of Beauty: Singing the Grand Canyon. Additional collaborators include jazz vocalist René Marie, Southwestern singer/songwriter Becky Reardon, harpist Christine Tulis with percussionist Kem Stralka, and Tree Andrew playing Native American flute. The goal of this performance, which will be a continuous flow of song, soundscape, and visual imagery, is to offer the audience a contemplative journey through the Grand Canyon.

Performances will be Saturday, May 1, at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday, May 2, at 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. at the Broomfield Auditorium. Tickets are $20 for general admission, and $15 for seniors and children. Nancy Volpe to show at Christine Marguerite Designs

Sculpture to be dedicated at CU

Bruce Campbell’s sculpture, “Flight of Stairs”, will be dedicated on the CU campus at the UMC Dalton Trumbo Fountain on Thursday, April 22, (Earth Day), at 5:00 pm. The sculpture commemorates the 40th anniversary of both the CU Environmental Center and Earth Day. The sculpture is made of staircase rails salvaged during the demolition of the Sibell-Wolle Fine Arts Building.

Bruce is an artist who has participated in the Open Studios Fall Artist Tour for several years.

Sallie K. Smith featured in Governor’s Invitational Art Show and Sale

Open Studios artist Sallie K. Smith is participating in the Nineteenth Annual 2010 Governor’s Invitational Art Show & Sale at the Loveland Museum/Gallery in Loveland, Colorado. The show is free and open to the public.
